This class lays emphasis on improving the ability of the learner to use Chinese for communication. It integrates the communicative function with the grammatical structure and presents the most essential and useful part of the language in the linguistic and environments one is usually exposed to in daily life, so as to enable the learner to master the basic conversational sentences fairly quickly, and on that basis, through substitution and extension practice, to acquire the ability to carry on simple conversations with the Chinese. In this way, the class will also help lay a solid foundation for further study. |

Course Plan: We will have 5 sessions in the 2016-2017 school year. Each session contains 4 weeks. Students only enroll and pay for the sessions they wish to attend. Sessions and Weeks: Sept 18 - Oct 9 2016, Oct 23 - Nov 13 2016 are the two sessions in the Fall semester. Registration fee is $80 for each session (4 weeks). Course Description and Goals: Build Chinese vocabulary; teach basic conversation skills. (Details to be added soon. ) |
