Course Description and Goals:

 

This class functions like a chess club.  It is open to all children interested in learning and playing chess.

 

Instructional Methods:

 

There is no formal instruction.  Students learn and gain experience through actual playing and discussions.  Individual attention will be given to students with little chess experience. 

 

Text or teaching materials:

 

Chess sets are provided for playing in the class.

 

Homework or assignments:

 

None.

 

Methods of Assessment:

 

Active participation and having fun are the only criteria for success.
